My Dream Team

So the other I was hanging out with my brother watching the Magic beat the Cavaliers..in which the boy Dwight Howard had another double-double with 22 points and 16 rebounds (GO DWIGHT!)...anyways while we were watching the game, we were talking about who we would like to be on our dream team. I thought long and hard ( since that game was played last month) and this would be my dream team as I think about it right now:

My starting five would be:
At point New Orleans Hornets Chris Paul, after Jason Kidd of course to me, Chris Paul is the best point guard. At guard L.A. Lakers Kobe Bryant, he's Kobe Bryant need I say more about him. At small forward Cleveland Cavaliers LeBron James, again LeBron James really want me to go into details. Power forward Denver Nuggets Carmelo Anthony, he is one of my favorite players and he is naturally talented; if you see him play, he can play both NBA style and international style which is amazing. And last but surely not least at center Orlando Magic very own Dwight Howard, he's like the first center I have ever seen (in my short life) to be so athletic and of course he is now my favorite player; he's also just 24 and he just keeps getting better each year, and I always enjoy watching him play.

My bench players who are just as great as the starters are Miami Heat (LETS GO HEAT) Dwyane Wade, Wade would have been a starter of course, but a man name Kobe Bryant is still killing it in the league; Wade always gives his blood sweat and tears on the court when he plays (PLEASE DON'T LEAVE MIAMI). Toronto Raptors Chris Bosh, a lot of people out their may have never seen Bosh play or may think I am crazy, but Bosh is very talented and he is one of the greatest players out their right (don't believe watch him play some day). Oklahoma City Thunder Kevin Durant, KD is crazy sick, he averages 29.8 points per and just dropped another 39 points against the Sacramento Kings; on top of all that, he is the future of the league and to me should be consider in the MVP talks this season and of course future years. Utah Jazz Deron Williams, behind Chris Paul (this is my opinion) he is the best point guard, he is very talented and like CP3, they know how to lead their team to victory.

Atlanta Hawks Al Horford, like KD he's also the future of the league and he is very talented; I've been watching him play since his college days with the Gators and to me, he's been getting better and better. Phoenix Suns Amar'e Stoudemire, Amar'e is one of those players that you would love to be on a team with because he is so passionate when he plays and you always see it in his eyes. Utah Jazz Carlos Boozer, when I was making this list, I tried to narrow it down, but I just couldn't take Boozer out; when I watch him play, I always feel as if he's giving it all and he wouldn't mind being back-up as long as he's winning.

Their were some players that I had to think very hard as to if I would actually want them on my team, but then after watching them play, they changed my mind completely. Chicago Bulls Derrick Rose, he's the future leader of his team and has so much talent and dedication which I would love on my team. Miami Heat Michael Beasley, no I didn't pick because he plays for my favorite team, I chose because when I see him play, he has so much talent and the potential to learn so much; when he stays out of trouble and puts his mind and heart into something, you know he can achieve it, and like Dwight, he has a sense of humor that will keep the mood happy ans positive. Sacramento Kings Tyreke Evans, Evans is the future like the others I said and of course he is Rookie of the Year this season; with Kevin Martin gone, Evans is the future leader of the kings just watch.

And last but not least, I know he's not in the NBA just yet, but he is extra extra talented. University of Kentucky John Wall, I mean I was never really into college basketball but watching John Wall play, I can't keep my eyes off the television. He is one of those players that if the rules didn't force him to go to college, he would be in the NBA right now killing it and doing his dance. He averages 22.1 points per game, 5.5 assists per game, and 5.2 rebound per game; and it wouldn't hurt that his team is outrageous with talent and have a great coach. If you never seen him play, trust me you would love to see him do his thing.

Now when it comes to head coaches, that's a whole different story; that would take me about forever to pick the right coach.Anyways, you know who my dream team would be, who would you pick?

Kevin Durant

This may be the best season that Kevin Durant has had so far in his very very very short career in the NBA. It has been outrageous; KD has averaged about 31 points per game in February alone (and the month isn't even over yet), he originally averages 29.9 points per game this whole season making him the leading scorer this season. On top of leading the league in points, he is on a 29 games streak of scoring 25+ points; second in NBA history to do so in one season (Michael Jordan lead with 40 consecutive). He stats in an article with The Oklahoman that he doesn't care for the 25+ points streak, he cares more for a game winning streak. (check out
http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/basketball/other_nba/view.bg?articleid=1235168&srvc=rss for the full story).

A lot of people may not agree with me on this, but I really do think that KD should be considered for MVP this season. I mean he's kind of like the Dwyane Wade of the team. Don't get me wrong, the Oklahoma City Thunder is a really good team (they are number 6 in the West and 10 in the league), but KD is a really big reason that they are up there. I'm not saying he is on top of his game just yet, but he's on his way. He has a lot more years ahead of him, this is just his 3rd year in the league. To think he's doing all of this in only his 3rd season, just imagine his future.

If he is not considered in the MVP race, then I will be very disappointed (even though LeBron will most likely win). I am really looking forward to see KD break MJ's record..Oh and I almost forgot, for all the people out there that thought KD can't shoot...he is the defending champ of H-O-R-S-E in the All-Star Weekend (you have to know how to shoot for that) and he is like I said the league's leading score and it's not from dunking or free throws (he's kind of too small to be dunking on everyone)

If you don't believe me, just check him out...If you don't know who he is (shame on you), still check him out.. number 35 for the Oklahoma City Thunder (formerly known as the Seattle Super Sonics...I know Seattle regretting what there decision right now).

All-Star Weekend

Today is the beginning of the NBA All-Star Weekend, which also marks the half of the NBA season. This year it is in Dallas (as we all know), and will be the biggest All-Star Weekend ever. So, instead of it being in the Dallas Mavericks' arena, it will be taking place in the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium which will take more than 90,000 fans. I wish I lived in Dallas right now just to see how that works out.

Anyways the schedule for the weekend has been released, and everything will kick-off tonight starting with the celebrity All-Star game at 7 on ESPN...after that, the Rookie vs; Sophomore game at 9 on TNT will begin (which so far the Sophomore are on a 7 game winning streak), during halftime, the dunk in will begin...for people that don't know what that is, well it is a competition that will decide who will get the final slot in the Slam Dunk Contest..which is a whole lot better than what they did last year. The two players that will compete in the dunk in are Eric Gordon of the Los Angeles Clippers and Demar DeRozan of the Toronto Raptors..the winner of the dunk in will compete with Nate Robinson, Gerald Wallace, and Shannon Brown in the Slam Dunk Contest (which I'm pissed cause Dwight Howard will not be competing this year).. back to the Rookie vs. Sophomore; the Rookie's roster consist of players suck as Brandon Jennings, Stephen Curry, Tyreke Evans, Omri Caspi, and DeJaun Blair ( pissed again cause my boy Ty Lawson didn't make it) and the Sophomore's roster consist of Michael Beasley, Derrick Rose, Brooke Lopez, Eric Gordon, Russel Westbrook, and O.J. Mayo.

Tomorrow which is my favorite from the All-Star Weekend is when most of all of the fun things take play such as H.O.R.S.E, Shooting Star, Skills Challenge, 3-Point Challenge, and my favorite the Slam Dunk Contest... I love the Slam Dunk Contest so much, it's really the main reason why I watch the NBA..so thank you Vince Carter :-) ... Every thing begins tomorrow at 5pm on TNT.

Then last but not least, Sunday raps everything up with the All-Star Game.. West vs. East, who will win..both sides are stacked with great players, but this year, the West will be playing without Kobe Bryant, and the East will be playing without Allen Iverson (still don't know why he was on the roster anyways)... the West roster consists of Carmelo Anthony, Tim Duncan, Deron Williams, Jason Kidd, Steve Nash, Amr'e Stoudemire, Kevin Durant.. Chris Paul and Brandon Roy are also among Kobe Bryant that will not play for the West this year due to injury...the East roster consists of Dwight Howard, Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Kevin Garnett, Rajon Rondo, Al Horford, Gerald Wallace..only Allen Iverson will be out. I'm going for the East this year, not only cause I'm from the East, but also because their roster is looking even large than the West.

I just know that this Valentine Day will be a great one for me, it's going to be BOMB!!! (in Dorell Wright's voice lol), so if you are going to watch the Winter Olympics or the Daytona 500 this weekend, make sure yall take a peep at the games this weekend on TNT :-)

SUPER BOWL

This Sunday SUPER BOWL XLIV will finally begin... New Orleans Saints vs. Indianapolis Colts in Miami. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

This is the Saints first Super Bowl EVER!!! Amazing huh, they truly deserve it including the city of New Orleans, they have been through so much since Katrina. It's amazing to see what a football team can do to a city... The Saints went from the AINTS and now back to the wonderful SAINTS again. Before Katrina hit, the Saints sucked, but after it hit and everybody started coming back, they kept going up and now they are finally in the Super Bowl. Since they are the underdogs in this game, I really want them to win...and because I can already see how that parade will go...it will make Mardi Gras look like s**t.

This is the Colts fourth time in the Super Bowl and a little fun fact, every time they have been to the Super Bowl, it was played in no other than Miami.I mean it really isn't a total shocker that they are in the Super Bowl this season, hello they have Peyton Manning and Pierre Garcon WOW he is going HAM out there right now...coming from a Division III school to being part of one of the best teams in the NFL is AMAZING!!!! But unfortunately, the Colts are going through some injury problems, but I don't think that will stop them from going all in...Since the Colts were here like 2 seasons ago, they already know how Miami works...they are staying in the same hotel as last time, and some of the players are still staying in the same room that they were in when they were here the last time...

As the days get closer the anticipation is driving me crazy...yea media day this season was whack, at least we know that the game shouldn't be whack (hopefully). Halftime performance is the Who.. I know half of the world may not even know who that is, but it's okay cause halftime is the time when everybody refills up on their foods and drinks and go to the toilet and what not lol...

My prediction is that the New Orleans Saints will beat the Indianapolis Colts to a very high scoring game...I know the only games the Colts lost this season were when the Colts benched their starters, but they never played against the Saints this season, so maybe the Saints defense can shut Peyton down the same way they shut down all the other great quarterbacks they played against during the playoffs...

Make sure yall check out the big game on Sunday, February 7, 2010 on CBS at around 6:20

NBA All-Star

The NBA All-Star starters have been announced and one pick is very shocking:

Eastern Conference Starters:

Dwyane Wade
Allen Iverson (WTF)
LeBron James
Kevin Garnett
Dwight Howard

Western Conference Starters:

Kobe Bryant
Steve Nash
Tim Duncan
Carmelo Anthony
Amar'e Stoudemire

The West's starters are great but the East starters well ?... From all the good guards out there that should have been a starter instead of Iverson. I love Iverson, he is a future Hall of Famer, but he doesn't deserve to be a starter. He hasn't done anything yet this season, but go back to the 76ers that's all. This voting is why a lot of people think that the fans shouldn't get the chance to vote. You never get something like this in the Pro Bowl selection smh... Other than that, the East is looking pretty strong, just hope the reserves are better than this. Some of the East players that the coaches should consider are Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo, Joe Johnson, Jamal Crawford, Shaq, Vince Carter, Rashard Lewis, David Lee, Chris Bosh, Josh Smith, and Gerald Wallace. This is going to be very tough for the coaches to pick, I'm just happy that I won't be picking.

The West's starters are looking very strong, having the leading scorer in the NBA (Melo), the star in the best team in the NBA (Kobe), and a man who dominates in assists (Nash). Now if you think the starters are huge just think about the reserves that need to be chosen. JR. Smith, Chauncey Billups, Chris Kaman, Richard Jefferson, Kevin Durant, Dirk Nowitzki, Brandon Roy, Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Zach Randolph, and Lamar Odom. Good luck :)

Besides the All-Star game (which will be on Valentines Day), the event that I always anticipate to watch, the event that made me fall in love with the NBA is the SLAM DUNK CONTEST. This year unfortunately :( Dwight Howard will not be competing, but Nate Robinson will be there to not disappoint us. Competing with Nate Robinson are Gerald Wallace and Shannon Brown. Now during the halftime of the Rookie vs. Sophomore game, Eric Gordon and DeMar DeRozan will be having a dunk off to see who will take the final spot of the Slam Dunk Contest. I think this way is better because last year's was just stupid; you had the fans pick the players not by how they could dunk, but by their other talents that had nothing to do with dunking. You know I will be watching the Rookie vs. Sophomore game to see who wins and how good they are.

This All-Star may be the biggest one ever. Not because of the players who will be there no, but it will be the place where they will be playing. This years All-Star Weekend will be in Dallas, Texas in the new Cowboys Stadium. The stadium will be holding more than 80,000 fans; that will be the most fans ever to be attending a basketball event. Which means more money for the NBA and Dallas, so its a win win situation for all.

When more information comes along for the All-Star Weekend, I will surely keep yall posted :)

I'm Proud to be a Haitian Dominican

A lot of people never believe me when I tell them my background, they always want to tell me what I am. Even when they try to believe me, they keep asking me so many questions. So this will be the last time I explain my background:

I'm Dominican Haitian a.k.a Domaitian but I was born and raised in Miami. My father and his family was born and raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and moved to the United States once he was 18 years old. My mother and her father was born in Haiti, but her mother was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. My mother moved to the United States when she was 20 years old and married. My parents have been in America for their whole adult life and raised my brother and I in America.

When people see my mother, they just think that she's a white woman who fell in love with a black man, not true. When people see my father, they call him a black man who fell in love with a white woman, again not true. Skin color has nothing to do with what a person is and what person background is. Just because my mother's skin color is white doesn't mean she is automatically a white person, her father had black skin. And just because my father's skin color is black doesn't mean he's from Africa.

I always here people around me speaking Spanish, Creole, or French and when I answer them back in their language, they have this shocked look on their face as if they never met a person that looks like knowing their language. Once I answer them, they always ask me what school did I learn these languages in. When I tell them that my family knew these languages and taught me when I was little, they get even shocked.

People for some reason are so naive that they think that I'm too light to be Haitian and too dark to be Hispanic. Now it seems like everybody I know has accepted the fact that I am Dominican, but they can't seem to accept the fact that I am also Haitian. People always say that they are no beautiful or successful Haitians out there; well hate to burst your happy little bubbles, but that is not true. People need to understand, just because you're Haitian, Dominican, Cuban, Puerto Rica, French, Indian, Mexican, or whatever, it doesn't define what you will be in the future.

So, for the last time I am Dominican Haitian, born and raised in Miami. I am proud of who I am and what I came from, and it will not define who I am or what I will become of myself in the future.

NFL: PLAYOFFS

The NFL season is over, and the Playoffs have begun. The Wild Card is over and the Cowboys beat the Eagles 34-14, Jets beat the Bengals 24-14, Cardinals beat the Packers 51-45 OT, and Ravens beat the Patriots 33-14 to advance to the Divisional Finals. I twas crazy I think the number 14 as big in the Wild Card? lol... anyways, the best game of the Wild Card week would have to be of course to the Cardinals and the Packers; it started off a little whack I gotta say, but at the end of that game it became so interesting. It was a high scoring almost no defense game, the Cards really fought for that win I gotta say. The game that really got me mad was the Jests and Bengals game; the Bengals are way better than the Jets, but I guess the Jets defense really proved why they are the best defense in the league. And the Eagles, OMG! How do you lose against the Cowboys to weeks straight in a row, I was totally in shock. Not mad at all cause I knew that they wouldn't pass the Divisional Finals.

The Cardinals were the last to play in Wild Card and the first to play in the Divisional Finals, so we all really weren't shocked when they lost to the Saints 45-14. Two words I have to say REGGIE BUSH... Reggie KILLED IT during that game, I think that was the first time since his USC days that I could call him a running back. Kurt Warner did get hurt during the 2nd quarter but came back during the second half. Matt Leinart did get to play, and from what I saw Leinart do, I would have kept him in and kept Warner out. Sadly this may have been the last game that Warner will play. So if it is, Kurt you had a great career and even though you last your last game, you still left with a big bang. FUTURE HALL OF FAMER. P.S. please don't be like Brett Favre and say you're not coming back but then you do, that wouldn't be fair to Matt and you know that.

It seems like every home team that had a bye week won; Colts beat the Ravens 20-3, Vikings whooped the Cowboys 34-3, but only one team didn't win and I really wasn't surprised, Jets beat the Chargers 17-14. It was actually very shocking, not the Chargers lost, but that it was the most interesting game from them all. I'm still mad that the Jets are still here; don't get me wrong they are good, but they are not that good. They keep getting lucky and I just want them to lose already.

Now the Conference Championship is beginning and the NFC Finals is looking very interesting, the New Orleans Saints vs. the Minnesota Vikings. Both teams are the truth and this may be a very high scoring game; they both have great defense but their offense are a whole lot better. If the Vikings lose, this may be Brett Favre's last game. I would tell you guys who I want to win, but I can't cause I like both teams and I want both of them to make it to the Playoffs, I just wish that they were both in different Conferences. Thankfully the best game will be on Sunday at 6:20, so that means everybody will be at home and not at church (LOVE THE LORD)... The other game will be the Indianapolis Colts. vs. the New York Jets, which will also be on Sunday at 3:00. Of course we all know who will win this game... sorry New York but the Colts will win. Yes you guys beat them in the regular season, but lets not forget THEY SAT ALL THERE GOOD PLAYERS!!! Jets were losing during the whole game until the Colts decided to sit all there players down, and then you guys finally won. Which means with there starters in, JETS WILL LOSE!!

The games will be on CBS and FOX. I can't wait to see how these games are going to end. I just want to see who are going to the SUPER BOWL already. Which don't forget SUPER BOWL is in Miami on February 7 and the Pro Bowl will also be in Miami on January 31.
