Touchy Subject: Close To My Heart

I know that this has nothing to do with sports or music or whatever, but this is something that is dear to my heart. It is sad to say that parents are sending their kids to school thinking that it is safe but then not knowing if they are coming home safe or even alive.

In the past week, Miami has had multiple incidents in which kids are bringing weapons to school. So far about 8-9 students have been arrested so far. Sadly one student has died and another in stable condition.

Here is some stories:

In a high school on Tuesday, two students 17 year-old Juan Carlos Rivera and 17 year-old Andy Rodriguez, got into an altercation which led to a fight, which then led into a fight. During the fight, Rodriguez pulled out a knife and stabbed Rivera 3 times; 1 in the upper back, 1 in his chest, and 1 to the kidneys. After Rodriguez ran off leaving Rivera on floor to die. Sadly many kids were out there just seeing him die slowly and painfully. You want to know why they fought, for a girl. The saddest thing is that Rivera came to America 5 months ago and living with his grandmother and uncle. His mother had to fight with the government in Cuba to allow her to come here and bury her own son. A mother has not seen her son in 5 months and now the last she will see him is dead.

On Thursday, police has cracked down on 7 different schools arresting kids with guns, knives, and tazers, but don't think it's only high school, no middle school students, even elementary.

On Friday, shots were fired at another high school in a bathroom. This one was more scary just because I was there. When a teacher went to the restroom to see what had happened, he found the gun and accidentally shot another round. The sad part of it all is that, the cops still do not know who it was. But not only did they find one gun, they found two. Two guns and not knowing who they belong to or why were they brought to school.

Last but not least, also on Friday, two middle school kids got into a fight at a park for I don't know what reason, and one pulled out a very very large knife. Did I mention they are only 12 year-old and 13 year-old boys. The 12 year-old pulls out a knife and stabs the 13 year-old in the back and also injuring himself with it. The poor boy was airlifted to the hospital with the knife still stuck to his back. Luckily the boy is in stable condition. The sad thing in this is that a little boy will be charged with attempted murder.

Kids are losing there futures each and everyday, either by going to jail or by getting killed. The thing about it is that you can't blame the schools or the parents, because if a child wants to carry a weapon they will. I blame whom ever is giving these kids these weapons. But, you can blame the parents if they are leaving their weapons out in the open for they kids to just go out and take it. The sad thing about it is that this is not over yet in Miami, I guarantee you that.

R.I.P Juan Carlos Rivera...you will truly be missed :(

Kanye West

As we all know or saw..Kanye West made an ass of himself at the VMA. I've been wanting to keep this to myself, but I can't anymore.

Yes we all know what Kanye did was heartless and a dick move, but lets be real with ourselves, it's not the first time he has done this. Hello we all remember when Hurricane Katrina hit and Kanye was on live television saying (and you can't forget), 'GEORGE BUSH HATES BLACK PEOPLE.' Or when he didn't win during the VMA and Grammy's he said he was robbed and that he was not coming back ( that was during the VMA). So why are we shock that he did this again. He's and arrogant man and we know this. I just can't stand how everybody wants to strike his music and all that other crap. We all know that Kanye is one of the best rappers out right now, so once he drops something good, we all are going to go out and buy it anyways.

Besides we all know that he does most of this because we allow him to. We never really say anything and the people on TV never stops him. So, he's not going to stop until the people around him stops condoning it and the executives on TV tells him enough is enough. I'm not saying that what he did wasn't wrong, but that he was expressing his opinion, just at the wrong time. I mean I totally agree with him that Beyonce had the best video of all time, hell she's the best, and we all know that; a simple award is not going to change that. At least he apologises and knows that what he did was wrong. So, that means he is on his way of changing a little bit..lol.

Ohh and Shout out to Beyonce for being the bigger person in the whole thing. And that is why she the best and will be the best for a long time. :)

Do you guys remember former Detroit Lions Charles Rogers who got arrested and fucked up his NFL career and went to rehab. Do you remember when he was on Outside The Lines and said he was ready to change and become a better man. Well all that went down the drain when the idiot got arrested and charged on Thursday for driving while intoxicated and not having a valid driver's license; which is a 93 day misdemeanors. Novi police were called around 2 p.m. Wednesday, where cops said Rogers was found 'unresponsive' behind the wheel that was running and in gear. Police reported in a statement on Thursday that they smelled liquor on his breath, and he also failed the sobriety test. He failed to take a Breathalyzer test, and his blood was taken after a judge signed a warrant.

People like Charles just makes me sick. You do something wrong, you go on TV or whatever and promise to change. You then get a chance from society and then you go and mess it up doing something so dumb. They say that they learned from the past. Well if you did, then why are you going out and doing the same thing or something in the sort. Just reminds me of Adam Pacman Jones, you get so much chances but you just spit in our faces. Whatever he gets right now as punishment or in the future, he deserves. WHAT A PUNK.

NBA News

It has been said that the 2009-2010 NBA season will be without the original referees that we see every season. The refs has rejected the NBA's new contract offer so the NBA will begin with replacements starting next week. A statement from the NBA this morning made it clear the lockout was under way:

"It's extremely disappointing that the NBRA has ignored the economic realities, rejected our offer and left us with no choice but to begin using replacement referees." Stated by executive vice president and general counsel Rick Buchanan.

Training camp was set to begin on Sunday, but was pushed back into sometimes next week to give the NBA time to get the replacements and to get them in New Jersey. The league has began contacting replacements last Wednesday, the day after the last meeting with commissioner David Stern, which he abruptly ended because he the officials reneged on a previously agreed to proposal.

The contract between the NBA and the officials expired September 1, and the sides has been trying to reach a new two-year deal. They agreed on salaries, which would have held steady this year and would have given the refs an increase the second year, but the union balked at the league's attempt to change retirement benefits.
The first preseason game in on October 1, in Utah. The last time the NBA has used replacement refs was in the 1995-1196 season. Lets just hope the everything goes well. I can never go without a season with no NBA.

The rumor has it that LeBron James is not going anywhere when his contract is over.

While he was out signing doing his book signing in Cleveland,a fan screamed 'DON'T LEAVE US, MAN!' And LeBron said he ain't leaving. Just to keep it short and simple, I wont believe it until I here he signed an extension. Until then, Cleveland get the oxygen mask ready.

Delonte West

So it's been a good minute since I last posted a story and I will tell there has been a lot of interesting things that has happened in the past couple of days.

Delonte Delonte Delonte...Delonte West was arrested Thursday night for speeding on his motorcycle and carrying loaded guns. He was just carrying one gun, no he had three guns, and just hearing where he had them and what type of guns makes this story interesting. So here it is; Delonte had a Beretta 9mm in his waist band, a Ruger .357 strapped to his leg, and a Remington 870 shotgun in a guitar case slung to his back. Sounds like to me he was ready for war, don't it?

Delonte was in Maryland traveling north on the Beltway in a three-wheeled motorcycle called a Cam-Am Spyder when he cut off an officer near Route 214,The cops pulled over Delonte for making an unsafe lane change, and when the cops approached the motorcycle, Delonte told him that he had a handgun in on his waist. It made the cops take precaution and call for backup, after searching him they found the other guns.

The cops still do not know why or where Delonte was heading with all that guns or why he was even in that area. When speaking to Delonte's father, Demitri West, he said that Delonte was always protecting himself and always looking behind his back. He also said that Delonte was always looking out for specific people and because he was concerned of his well-being as a high-profile athlete.

All I have to say is, first and for most, Delonte West is not all that big. He is usually known as that ghetto white boy who plays with the Cleveland Cavaliers and likes KFC. I think maybe he heard his girl was creeping with another man and so he was going over there to maybe scare the crap out of her. Well whatever he was doing, it was a dumb a really dumb thing to do. But, with all jokes aside, Delonte has been facing some depression moods since childhood and has been taking medication and going to counseling for it. Maybe he stop taking them and due to that, it has made him very paranoid. In whatever case, I just hope that he is okay and he can work through things. I just hate seeing players or people who is getting to their highest moment of their life and ruin it with something stupid.
