Stillman Forfeit First Game of the Season

Sadly Stillman had to forfeit there first game of the season against Clark Atlanta due to the swine flu. About 37 players have gotten the swine flu on the team forcing them to cancel the game. Tigers head football coach L.C. Cole said he noticed his team were having flu-like symptoms after a morning workout during the week.

Both team are unable to reschedule the game, so Stillman had no choice but to forfeit the game to Clark Atlanta. The only reason why Clark Atlanta gets the win, it because it is not there fault that they can't play the game, it is Stillman's fault that they cannot play, so Stillman has to forfeit. Sorry Tigers fan.

College Football

College Football season has finally started and it has started with a BANG...

The Oregon Ducks has suspended there starting running back and best running back LeGarrette Blount for the rest of the season. Which is sad because it brought his draft ranking all the way down. When asking a top recruit team, they said Blount went from a second round pick and the second best running back in the draft, to an undrafted running back.

For people that don't know what happened, well hear is the story.

After Oregon lost..well they didn't lose, they got embarrassed by Boise State, Blount went to shake hands with the other team, like after every game. When leaving the field, Boise State defensive end Byron Hout hit Blount shoulder pads and started taunting him. Blount then punched, well sucker punched Hout on the chin and went on a raging rampage. He started pushing his teammates when they were trying to hold him back. While he was coming off the field, he starting getting into an argument with the fans; he then charged to the fans, but luckily, the guards stopped him before he got to the fans and made a bad situation worse.

Blount later did apologize for his action, but an apology wouldn't help his situation at the moment. It was hard for the coach to tell him the he was suspended because it is his senior year, so that mean this is his last year playing and he messed it all up. At least he gets to keep his scholarship and so he will be able to complete school and graduate. Also he is still able to practice with the team, just not play.

Boise State also has stated that they will punish Hout for his action, he will not be suspended, but he will be punished. Hell he will always be remembered as the guy who got sucker punched for talking smack and got knocked out also.

It is a sad story, but he has to face the consequence for his actions. I mean it is sportmanship week in the NCAA and that does not have sportsmanship written on it at all. I hope he has learned from it and every other college player learn from it. I wish LaGarrette Blount all the best right now, and hope he can come through from this whole situation.

NFL NEWS

I want to correct myself real quick...my last post, I stated that Pacman was trying to sign with the UFL; well it's not the UFL, it was the CFL. Sorry my mistake..I just never thought that someone would go to the CFL after the UFL came, but I was wrong. And since we are on this topic, he tried to get signed, but the CFL team said no. Are you surprised, I think not. Who wants Pacman on their team, I know I don't with his attitude and actions.

Today marks the NFL final cut on the rosters. Each team must cut until they have 53 players on their roster. Teams are cutting from left to right before Monday comes to get ready for the regular season. For some teams it will be hard to cut, but for the others, it will be a breeze to go through. Certain teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Tennessee Titans are keeping it a hush hush of who they are cutting until the release the final roster. Other teams are being dumb an releasing really good players for there team...But I really don't care cause my team to win the Super Bowl (Philadelphia Eagles), are still looking good.

The New York Giants have released David Tyree. For those who don't know ho he is, well he's the guy that made that incredible helmet catch in the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots.

"I talked to Kevin Abrams this morning and he said it was a very tough decision for the team. Like anyone else, it was a tough thing for David to hear. He's actually saying his goodbye to his teammates right now. He's obviously disappointed, but we're confident someone else will see the value he brings on special teams and as a wide receiver. We'll see how things go here in the next few days." David Tyree's agent Michael Clouser told the Newark Star-Ledger.

Surprise that he got cut since the Giants doesn't have any really good receiver on the team. They really should have cut a receiver they usually don't use like maybe Sinorice Moss. I mean it hurts me to say that cause I love Sinorice, but as a sports fan, I gotta call it how I see it. Oh well, then it should make it easier for the Philadelphia Eagles to win.

The Buffalo Bills have released Dominic Rhodes, who was one of the biggest person they got this off season. With Marshawn Lynch suspended for the first three regular season game, the Bills only have Fred Jackson to play that has NFL experience. This comes one day after the Bills fired there offensive coordinator Turk Schonert. I see there season not going so well right now.

The NFL has fined Brett Favre $10000 after an illegal block in the preseason game last week against the Houston Texans' defensive back Eugene Wilson. Eugene is looking for an apology from Brett, and still is:

"Eugene went back out on the field after the game hoping Favre would come up to him and apologize and express some concern and that didn't happen. Eugene then was hoping Favre would send him an apology through some sort of correspondence, but that hasn't happened, either. Eugene is still hopeful Favre will apologize to him.' Eugene agent James Sims said."

Now the only reason why Eugene is making a deal out of it is because he did get injured and he does want an apology which is understanding, if Brett didn't do it on purpose like he said. I would be surprise if Brett apologizes, doesn't look like a sorry guy to me.HEY at least we now know that Roger Goodell isn't playing this season with punishments. Which is a good thing cause QBs always get away with things and now they don't.

NFL NEWS

The Philadelphia Eagles reportedly expect Commissioner Roger Goodell to issue a ruling on Michael Vick's possible full re-instalment before Saturday's mandatory league cut down to a 53-man roster. Under the conditions that Goodell imposed in July, Mike may not begin playing in the regular-season until Goodell notifies that he can, which must come by week 6. But, Eagles head coach Andy Reid and team president Joe Banner have been updating Goodell on Mike's behavior and progress, while also trying to get a clearer understanding of when he will rule on Mike's re-instatement. It is widely believed that he will allow Mike to return to full-time duty by Week 3, according tot hose close to Mike and the Eagles.

I hope Goodell lets him back in sooner than Week 6.

The Cincinnati Bangles have finally signed their draft pick Andre Smith, on Sunday. On Tuesday, Andre messes up his foot (smh). See that's what he gets for not coming to practice and working out like he is suppose to be doing. I guess the team can't make fun of him anymore behind his back during practice.

Simeon Rice will be going to the UFL. He hasn't been playing in the NFL since 2006 when he was released. I wonder if he still has it, I mean if he still does, then NFL needs to go and get him ASAP.

Adam 'Pacman' Jones has also signed with a UFL team. Do we really care about Pacman right now? I know I don't. He is someone that really makes me sick right now. All the chances he has had, he just takes it and throw it right in everybody face. No wonder Roger Goodell is so strict with all these chances. I honestly would never let Pacman in my team, NEVER! I hope he has fun in the UFL; he better hope that he doesn't mess up in the UFL. Once he does, he will not have any more chances, and he can say bye-bye to playing professional football.

NBA News

Golden State Warriors are looking like some unhappy campers. Stephen Jackson and the Warriors are uncertain if Stephen will be coming back for the season. Despite everything, general manager Larry Riley still thinks Stephen is a key part of the team despite the best player on the team saying he wants to go elsewhere and win.
"Stephen Jackson has been a true professional since arriving here three seasons ago, and our expectations of him have not changed despite his recent comments. He's been one of our most consistent and productive players during that time. We expect that some display of professionalism as we begin to prepare for training camp and the start of the upcoming regular season." Riley said in a statement.
Stephen said on Friday to Dime Magazine that he wanted out and had made it known to the Warriors brass. But the problem is that he signed a three-year contract extension in November and is a person that the team considers part of their long-term plans.

"It's not about a decision I made, it's just things are in the air right now. I really can't get too much into it right now, but I'm just looking to go somewhere where I can go and win a championship." Stephen Jackson told Dime Magazine.

The man that put 'bad ass' in the Detroit Pistons and who coached the Detroit Shocks winning three titles, will join Kurt Rambis and his staff at the Minnesota Timberwolves, http://www.espn.go.com has confirmed. Which is a total shock because Laimbeer has always said he will never become an assistant coach only a head coach. This has been Laimbeer's first time coaching in the NBA before. For people that doesn't know who Bill Laimbeer is, well here's some knowledge for yall:
Bill Laimbeer was drafted in 1979 to the Cleveland Cavaliers, then was traded to the Detroit Pistons in 1982. He became one of the most notorious players in the NBA, having players form Charles Barkley to Karl Malone hating him. In other words, like what Dennis Rodmen said 'he was bad as he wanted to be.' He also helped the 'Bad Boys' Pistons win back-to-back titles. After retiring from the NBA, he took a job coaching and was the general manager for the Detroit Shocks and also helped them win three titles.

Great resume huh?
It must suck to be a part of the Minnesota Timberwolves right now. Ricky Rubio has signed a new contract with Spain that will not end until 2011. Which would suck for the Timberwolves because they spent a perfectly good draft pick on a player that won't even play for them. They could've went for Stephen Curry, but no they went for somebody that was always a little bit iffy about whether or not he was coming to the NBA. I think the NBA needs to make a rule about things like this. You know if they get drafted, then it should be mandatory for them to play, if not, then they should be banned for some time. Kind of like Billy Donovan. Oh well, I'm just happy that the Timberwolves aren't my favorite team right now.

Mr. Taller than Tall Yao Ming may be back playing sooner than we expect. Rockets general manager Daryl Morey said that the team doesn't feel as if Yao's broekn left foot in career-threatening anymore.
"Yao Ming is progressing well. I don't think that a career-ending scenario is something that will happen, based on what I'm hearing from the doctors. They do know that the bone will heal and he'll get back on it. And they have not actually ruled out his return this season. I think that's less likely than likely, but they haven't ruled it out. And next season, the outlook is very good. He just took off the cast for a short period, so the doctors could examine it, and everything is going well. Everything is on track." Morey told ESPN The Magazine's Sam Alipour.
I guess we will have to wait and see what happens when the season starts.

Around the NFL

So before the game on Monday, Brett Favre told the Minnesota Vikings that he may have cracked a rib or something after taking some hard hits last week against the Kansas City Chiefs. Their has been no x-rays yet or no reports about it, but Favre has complained about it being hard to breathe. He will st5ill be playing in the next preseason game, unless something happens to him in between now and the next game or the beginning of the regular season... is it bad for me to hope that there is something wrong with him, so he doesn't come back and he will be gone for the rest of the season or maybe forever?

New York Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora missed practice today, and head coach Tom Coughlin doesn't know why. Osi attended team meeting on Monday morning and left unexpectedly and didn't talk to Coughlin before leaving and never returned to practice. General manager Jerry Reese, send a text message to Osi and asked him if everything was alright; Osi replied that everything was 'OK', but he didn't explain why he left. Since he was absent for practice, it will be considered unexcused, and he will most likely be fined.

Rumors: Supposedly posted by http://espn.go.com, he left after he had gotten into a dispute with new defensive coordinator Bill Sheridan. He supposedly criticized Osi for making a mistake in Saturday's game against the Jets.

" We will have to talk to him when he gets back. Obviously he is not here, so I am concerned. There must have been something of a personal nature, and he left. I haven't personally talked to him. He did respond to Jerry, evidently by text. That's all I have. I haven't seen him, so I can't tell you." Coughlin states.

Well whatever it is, you know I will be keeping you all posted on this story ;)
