News Around the NFL

Rumor has it, if Plaxico Burress gets signed to a team, he will be suspended for a minimum of 8 games. Goodell doesn't want to suspend him for the whole season until he knows further details of Plaxico's case and what will happen to him. So, if Plaxico is found guilty, of course not only he will serve time, but he will be gone for the whole season and maybe more. But, we're not going that far right now. Teams are not taking any risks just yet until they officially know how long he will be gone. You don't want to sign someone that will be gone for the whole season, waist of time and money.

I guess we won't know until it happens. But. believe me I will keep you guys posted for a fact on this story.

In sadder news, but very predictable, Goodell has suspended Donte Stallworth for the whole 2009-2010 season. It's not surprising because Donte did kill a man and will have to live that fact for the rest of his life. But, it still wouldn't be fair because Donte did kill someone and Michael Vick just killed dogs, so if Michael is out for a whole season then it's only right that Donte is too. Hopefully, Goodell will give him a chance when he comes back and reinstate him after. For his team the Cleveland Browns, the head coach, Eric Mangini, said he is not sure of Donte's future with team, and he will have to wait and see what happens.

Michael Vick had his first practice yesterday with his new and improve team the Philadelphia Eagles. Head coach Andy Reid said he was very impress with Michael, and that he did better than what he expected. It was good also because the Eagles are know for their West Coast style offense in which Mike played when he was with the Atlanta Falcons. Coach Reid still says that Mike is the third string quarterback for the team, but I think that will change soon.

Some people in Philadelphia are still not happy with the signing and some are happy because they see as a good deal for the team winning a Super Bowl. But, most people are just waiting to see what Mike does and are not picking sides just yet. In a poll http://www.philly.com/, about 83,000 people voted in which they thought the signing of Michael Vick was good or not; 51% said yes and 49% said no (this was the second highest poll they had after the poll question do you believe in God). I'm with everybody who is just waiting to see what Mike has in store for, but I can say I am leaning a lot with people that are happy with the deal. I guess we will have to wait until August 27 to see him play and see how good he is, If not preseason, then we will have to wait til Goodell reinstates him. You know I'm waiting and we will definitely keep you guys posted.
