Second week of preseason is just wrapping up and some very interesting things have accord.
Brett Favre played his first preseason game with the Minnesota Vikings against the Kansas City Chiefs. Favre as I expected sucked like crazy. Didn't see the game and you don't believe me, well here is his stats: he had 1 completion out of 4 attempts, and that one completion was for only 4 yards, which they had to punt after his whole series was over. On the other hand, Tarvaris Jackson went HAM that game; he had 12 completions out 15 attempts for 202 yards, he had 2 touchdowns and no interceptions(and to think the Vikings are letting him go). Jackson is going out and saying you're going to want to trade me instead of releasing me to a better team.
Chad Johnson..I mean Chad Ochocinco said on twitter he has a new way to celebrate and he knows he won't get fined for this one. He's going to pull a Brett Favre on us; he's going to retire then come back, but with an even bigger bang (crazy huh). In his second preseason game against the New England Patriots, not only did his thing as a receiver, nope, but also a kicker. After Chris Henry made the touchdown, Mr. Ochocinco kicked the extra point and made it to help the Bengals win the game. He also was the kicker during kick off after the touchdown. So, if the receiving thing doesn't work, Chad can always be a kicker. lol :)
Ben Roethlisburger was unable to play this week because of aggravating his Achilles tendons on Thursday, but the injury is not serious and he should be ready by next week or if he doesn't want to, by regular season's kick off.
Jeremy Shockey is a true definition of man that stands on his own. During scrimmage this week against the Buffalo Bills, Shockey got into a little altercation with a comeback, which led to an fight with two comebacks, then with about ten Bills players on top of him. The whole time I'm watching this I just wonder, what happened to the Saint's backing up there teammate? Either they don;t like Shockey or they just a whole bunch of wimps on the team.Don't want to start anything, but Jeremy you need to check your teammates, the Giants would never let that go down when you were there. But, at least the Saints won the preseason game against the Bills 38-14.
Matthew Stafford got the chance to start in his first game in the NFL, and didn't do so good. He had 5 completions out of 13 attempts for 34 yards, and 1 interception. But, he is a rookie and he does need to work harder if he expects to become the starting quarter back for the team.
